Most resources for founders are about building and scaling. Very few address the chapter that comes after a significant exit - when you have capital, optionality, and are clear you want to build a new company but not sure exactly what yet.
The Clearing is a curated series of in-person workshops for exited founders navigating that space - structured conversation designed to surface the questions people aren't asking out loud.
Our first event will be a ~2 hour workshop with 12 exited founders in late April.
Who Should Apply
Exited founders who are confident they want to start another company but haven't yet taken on funding.
Every person in the room will be a peer you can learn from.
What Founders Say
"Just the act of getting together with a small group of people of this quality is rare and valuable."
Founder · $1B exit
"Planning a new company isn't the same when you have a lot more resources. You want to be more ambitious, but also have more questions about motivations."

The Team
Managing Director, Basal Capital
Nathan is the Managing Director of Basal Capital, a pre-seed and seed fund focused on repeat founders. He's backed companies across fintech and AI, with a portfolio built on founder quality above all else.
He started The Clearing because he kept seeing the same gap: endless resources for founders building their first company, almost nothing for what happens after a significant exit.

The questions exited founders don't usually ask out loud: what do I actually want to build, and why? How do I think about ambition differently with more resources? What does a strong thesis look like at this stage? The agenda is shaped by the group.
